Introduction : David Rockefeller was an American banker and Chase was chairman of the Manhattan Corporation. He was known for traveling abroad and establishing political connections with leaders of different countries .

Early life and education : He was born on June 12, 1915 in New York. His father's name Jhon D . Rockefeller jr and his mother’s name Abigail Greene Aldrich. He graduated from Harvard University in 1938. He then spent a year studying economics at the London School of Economics. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1940.

Career : He was associated with various professions in his working life. Early in his career he was secretary to New York Mayor Fiorolo La Guardia. From 1941 to 1942 he was the Assistant Regional Director of the United States Department of Defense, Health and Welfare Services. The very next year, in 1943, he joined the military. In 1944 he was appointed Captain. During World War II, he worked in North Africa and France to set up political and economic intelligence units. In the aftermath of the war he joined the Chess National Bank because his uncle was chairman and 5% of his family was in that company. In 1955, Chase Manhattan merged with Cong Bank to form Chase Manhattan. In 1950, he established Latin American Business Highlights in a quarterly economic publication. Rockefeller's interest in foreign affairs in general and in Latin America in particular was reflected in his involvement with the Council on Foreign Relations and the Center for Inter-American Relations. He became vice-president in 1951 and chairman of the New York Chamber of Commerce Committee for the renovation of Lower Manhattan in 1956. In 1981, he was appointed chairman of the board of Chase Manhattan Bank. .

Public works : In 2005, he donated $ 100 million to the Museum of Modern Art and Rockefeller University. He has also taken many philanthropic initiatives. In 2006, he donated $ 100 million to Harvard University. The total amount of charitable donations during his lifetime was $ 900 million,

Death : He retired from active management in 1981. Rockefeller was a prominent internationalist. He died at the age of 101 on March 20, 2017at his home in Mount Pocantico, New York.
